How it works #2

How it works

The YWP programme is designed for youth aged 12-24*, who are currently experiencing common mental health problems/emotional distress
including (but not limited to):

Anxiety (e.g. generalised anxiety, mild social anxiety, mild health anxiety, symptoms of Panic Disorder)
Low mood (e.g. mild to moderate depression)
Stress (from academic pressure, bullying, etc.)
Low self-esteem
Highly-critical/over-perfectionist traits
Facing procrastination/ concentration issues

*For online sessions, service users must be aged 18 and above.

How the YWP sessions work

You will meet with them weekly for 7 sessions, and each session will be 1 hour long. After this, you will meet them for one more session, 6 weeks after your 7th session)
You and your YWP will plan ahead, scheduling all of your sessions at the start so that you know when you will be attending. Your YWP will help you to plan around any existing commitments, such as deadlines, exam periods or travel.
During each session, your YWP will guide you through a section of your workbook, with set content to cover each week.
Your YWP will use their training to help them to fit the treatment to the specific problem(s) that you are experiencing.
The sessions will involve some discussion, presenting some new ideas and some practice of new skills.
At the end of each session, your YWP will help you to plan some “at-home practice”. All skills and practices will be linked to your goals, which you will generate with the YWP in the first session. These goals are based on what matters the most to you.

Benefits of joining the programme
